The Mobile County Board of School Commissioners convened on July 27, 2026, with the chair calling the meeting to order and asking Mister Stringfellow to lead the opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
After routine procedural business, the board voted to approve the minutes and adopt the meeting agenda. Chair called for the vote and declared, "Motion carried." The board later approved the 2026–27 meeting calendar (Action G-2) following a motion and second.
The chair also paid tribute to the superintendent and district staff, saying feedback from a recent statewide "mega conference" reflected positively on district progress. "All the kudos that we receive about what's going on in our districts is, you know, over and beyond," the chair said, urging staff to keep up the work.
The board adjourned the public portion of the meeting after completing the agenda and indicated a student hearing would follow in a separate session.
