Tabor adopts updated building permit and approves upgrade to 2021 building code
Summary
The board approved revocation of an insufficient permit, adopted a revised building permit (to be available online) and voted to upgrade local enforcement from the 2018 to the 2021 International Property and Building Code.
Town attorney Kent Lehr brought forward two properties for action under the International Maintenance Code and recommended revoking a building permit that lacked required information. Code Enforcer Joel Johnson recommended upgrading from the 2018 to the 2021 International Property and Building Code; trustees voted to adopt the code update and directed the lawyer to send letters to affected residents.
The board also reviewed and adopted an updated building-permit form prepared with input from the Board and BH DOE; the permit will be made available online. Trustees agreed to proceed with enforcement steps for properties out of compliance and to align permit forms with the upgraded code.
