County signs USFS agreement to upgrade Tinton Road, schedules Nemo bridges bids and approves forest permits

The Lawrence County Commission authorized chairman signature on two USFS agreements (numbers 25-RO-11020300-008 & 25-RO-11020300-022) to bring a 3.9-mile section of Tinton Road to county standards and maintain it through a FRTA easement. Highway Superintendent John Bey was authorized to sign alongside the chairman. The action was approved by motion (Tysdal; Comer).
The board also set a bid opening for Nemo Road structure replacements and approach grading for May 12, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. and approved a Special Use Permit authorizing county work on National Forest System lands for bridge structures #41-249-268 and #41-250-268. In his staff report, Bey noted the county will be reimbursed for surface treatment at Roughlock Falls not to exceed $10,000 under a fully executed SDGF&P agreement.
