Commissioners approve vacation of section-line right-of-way for Bighorn L&R Ranch

The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners voted April 14, 2026 to adopt Lawrence County Resolution #2026-14, approving the vacation of a portion of a section-line right-of-way affecting Tracts 1–3 of Bighorn L&R Ranch (sections 2, 3, 10, 11, 14 and 15, T3N, R1E, BHM). Chairman Eric Jennings presided over a public hearing during which Deputy State’s Attorney Bruce Outka presented the resolution and USFS Realty Specialist Valerie Jagim said the Forest Service had no objection at this time.
The board found that the public interest would be better served by the proposed vacation and authorized the chairman to sign the resolution. The motion to approve was moved by Commissioner Richard Tysdal and seconded by Commissioner Robert Ewing; the motion carried. The action was certified by Auditor Brenda McGruder on April 14, 2026. The resolution notes notice was published in the B.H. Pioneer as required prior to the hearing.
