Owner asked for billing relief; board and staff cite outstanding debt and EDU/tap-fee rules
Summary
The owner of 8419 West 62 LLC requested relief on a sewer bill for an unused building; staff said the authority cannot stop payment on the bill due to outstanding debt, but the owner may request a reduction in EDUs and would owe the $3,900 per-EDU tap fee if EDUs are later reinstated.

The property owner of 8419 West 62 LLC asked the authority for relief on a sewer bill because the building at the site is not currently in use. Engineer/operator Dan Goncz told the board the authority cannot simply stop payment while debt is outstanding; instead, the owner may request to have the property's EDUs lowered.
Dan also told the board that if the owner later requests to restore EDUs, the tap fee would be charged again; the transcript records the current tap fee at $3,900 per EDU. Karen Shipton will provide contact information to the property owner and staff will assist in explaining the EDU adjustment process.
