Weatherford highlights National Night Out turnout and upcoming fall events; staff to give economic development update Friday

A councilmember told residents that last night's National Night Out attracted an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 attendees and praised first responders and city departments for their participation.
"We had thousands, probably 4 or 5,000 of our residents come out and join us for a circus themed extravaganza at National Night Out," the councilmember said, and encouraged residents to attend upcoming events including Monster Bash at Heritage Park (this Saturday, free admission, concert at 7 p.m.), Movies in the Park on Oct. 18, the downtown candy crawl on Oct. 26 and Weatherford College's production of Jekyll and Hyde Oct. 24–27. The councilmember also noted an economic development breakfast Friday at 7:30 a.m. at the Doss where staff (Ashley Styler and others) will present an update on tourism and economic impact.
The council used the community-interest section to highlight seasonal programming and encourage resident participation; staff contact information and event calendars were made available on the city's website during the announcement.
