Mark Ruiter of Bowen Road also said having the option would be beneficial. In contrast, Angel Innes of First Street said she was "not in favor of the short-term rentals due to all the children in the area and thinks it would be unsafe for the neighborhood." The comments preceded council action later in the meeting to approve a conditional-use permit for one property under the city's short-term rental requirements.
