Superintendent reports kitchen nearly ready, graduation rates up and McKinney-Vento oversight reassigned

Superintendent Ingrid Colvard updated the board on Aug. 22 that the WRMS kitchen is functional though remodeling work will not be fully complete until September. She reported that the InformaCast communications project is complete and that the district will adopt regional SRP language for emergency response. Colvard said graduation rates increased for the 2024 school year and that the district is fully staffed heading into the year.
Colvard also said the district will launch a new ParentSquare-powered website in the next few weeks and that she and staff are developing a cyber-safety workshop for parents. She added that she will head McKinney-Vento and foster care programs this year, functions that had previously been part of a position cut from the 2025 budget. The board did not take formal votes on these reports; items were informational and for follow-up as needed.
