Residents press board on shipping-container conversions and social-media admin removal

Residents Nicole and Jozie Einrem asked the board for more resources and details on converting a storage container into living quarters; the board responded that such conversions must meet IBC code standards, connect to town sewer, have a foundation and obtain the required building permit. The board recorded adoption of related code language later in the meeting.

Ann Beran, joined on speaker phone by Brenda Beran Fryda, asked why she had been removed from a town-related Facebook admin and said she had been blocked; she thanked the board after the removal was corrected. The board emphasized that official documents—agendas, minutes and ordinances—are posted on the town website and suggested contacting the Chamber for other social-media issues. Public commenter Don Fejfar later raised questions about whether property-taxed repair money is being used on streets and noted a fence in a fire zone and a shipping container moved into town; the board said it has worked with the code enforcer and had provided requirements to the resident with the shipping container.
