City updates commission on DEQ review, aims to apply for capital funding in 2024

City Manager Spence told commissioners the city is updating its environmental review with DEQ for the Heritage Square property and that the prior "no further action" guidance factored into treating the site as public space.
"As you know, we're also going through our, DEQ or our environmental review process with that property, which we need to move forward on," Spence said. Staff said they hope to apply for capital funds in 2024 and, if funding is secured, begin project work in early 2026.
