County approves five-year 4-H/Extension IGA with Oregon State University

The Josephine County Board of Commissioners voted to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the Josephine County 4-H/Extension Service District and Oregon State University Extension Service. County Legal Counsel Wally Hicks presented the IGA and told the board it has “a five-year term ending June 30, 2031,” assigns the District responsibility for annual funding and operational support through the budget process, and assigns OSU responsibility for delivering extension education and information to county residents.
Commissioner Colene Martin moved to approve the IGA; Commissioner Ron Smith seconded. Upon roll call, Commissioner Richardson was recorded as absent and the motion carried 2-0. The agreement also addresses provision and funding of an appropriate facility for Extension programs and staff, furnishings, travel expenses, and administration of District funds; Legal Counsel said he had no remaining concerns and recommended approval.
