Public hearing held for Church Supper LLC meeting house at 112 Wheaton Street

The Pittsfield Planning Board opened a public hearing on a site plan prepared by Hinkley Hill LLC on behalf of Church Supper LLC proposing a meeting house/event center at 112 Wheaton Street. Justine Drake, civil engineer with Hinkley Hill Designs, said the plan retains most of the existing parking, adds spaces along the Main Street frontage and includes a second-story office area. "I'm a civil engineer with Hinkley Hill Designs," Drake said while describing new sewer and storm-drain tie-ins and an outdoor events area on the property’s east side.

Board members and staff raised questions about utility routing and coordination with Central Maine Power and the state Department of Transportation. Drake said the plan currently shows sewer coming off Easy Street but that alternate connections (and any required easements) may be considered; she also explained that a demolished section of the old church will be regraded to create additional event space. The board opened the hearing for public comment; no one from the audience spoke and the board voted to close the public hearing. The application will return for final site-plan review and any required permitting following coordination with utilities and state reviewers.
