Deputy State's Attorney Bruce Outka presented the resolution and landowner Andrew Nagel spoke to the board explaining the need for the vacation. The board found the public interest would be better served by the vacation and voted to adopt the resolution.
The resolution notes that the section line is not part of the State Trunk Highway System or the Lawrence County Highway System and that notice was published in the Black Hills Pioneer prior to the hearing. The resolution was dated and signed April 28, 2026, by Chair Eric Jennings and attested by Auditor Brenda McGruder (Resolution #2026‑15).
