Winhall Selectboard certifies election results; Coleman elected chair, Schwartz vice-chair

The Town of Winhall Selectboard reviewed final local election totals at its July 2 meeting and formally elected leadership for the coming year. The minutes show Elizabeth Grant received 263 votes for a two-year seat and Dean Gianotti Jr. received 67; Stacy Eddy-Gordon received 234 votes for the one-year seat while Jeff Yates received 76.
Julie Isaacs moved to elect Stuart Coleman as chair and Bill Schwartz as vice-chair; Elizabeth Grant seconded the motion and the board adopted it unanimously. The board also approved its regular meeting schedule — the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 p.m. — on a unanimous motion by Isaacs and seconded by Schwartz.
Isaacs reminded members of the Selectboard Conflict of Interest Policy. Stacy Eddy-Gordon said she would recuse herself from items where a conflict could arise involving her husband, town highway crew member Dusty Gordon. Elizabeth Grant stated she would recuse herself from matters relating to Access Permits or the Liquor Board if conflicts arise. These recusals were recorded without immediate effect on any agenda item.
The election and leadership votes were recorded in the minutes as formal motions and passed unanimously.
