Weatherford officials celebrate Peach Festival’s international award, announce fall events

Weatherford council members used their opening remarks to recognize the Parker County Peach Festival after the event won the Grand Pinnacle award from the International Festivals and Events Association. A council member said the festival also received recognition for its emergency management plan and promotional video, and asked residents to applaud the organizing team.
"This is by far the biggest event in Parker County," the council member said, noting staff involvement from public works and police and thanking volunteers and event partners. The council also highlighted Weatherford ISD participation at a fundraising event and announced upcoming community activities, including a downtown candy crawl, Weatherford College’s production of Jekyll and Hyde, a trunk-or-treat at the animal shelter, and the Veterans Day parade on Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. The speaker encouraged donations to local food pantries and the mayor's food drive running through the end of the month.
