The Brookings County Planning and Zoning Commission voted to forward the Slocum Addition (Plat 20‑26) in a joint jurisdiction area following a staff presentation and a public hearing with no speakers in opposition.
Richard Woodridge, presenting the staff report, described the proposal as a 17.9‑acre building site split from a 320‑acre parent parcel and noted the site lies in a joint city/county jurisdiction and in Wellhead Aquifer Protection Zone A. “The plat does meet the platting requirements of the 2016 comprehensive plan for the unincorporated rural areas,” Woodridge said. The applicant was not present for the hearing.
After closing the public hearing with no public comments, staff called the roll. The record shows affirmative votes from Kelly Vanderwall, Tim Paulson, Cody Clark, Darrell Kleinjohn, Kyle Vanderwall, Dale Storhaug, Justin De Groot, Randy Jensen and Chad Ford; the motion passed to forward the recommendation.
