Wildlife Services reports 29 deer delivered to county venison hub; most damage claims bee apiaries

Alec Sundelius of Wildlife Services updated the Land Management Committee on Feb. 6, 2026, reporting that 29 deer were brought to the county's only venison donation hub, Eagle Peak Processing, and that most documented wildlife damage claims were for bear damage to apiaries. Sundelius told the committee enrollment in the shooting program has been very low because landowners must open private land to public hunting to participate.
