Soil & Water reports new hydroseeder, says $750,000 of $3.7 billion pool is allocated for projects

Colby Petersen, representing Yates County Soil & Water, told the Government Operations Committee that the district has initiated a new hydroseeder and intends to prepare the old unit for independent sale. He also said the department is recruiting for a full-time Conservation District Technician and has reduced the applicant list to three finalists with planned in-person interviews on May 14.
Petersen said watershed inspection work and Agriculture Environmental Management continue and that roughly $750,000 of an initial $3.7 billion funding pool for projects is already allocated. He described ongoing work on engineering and permitting and said the expectation is that many of those projects will be completed later this summer. The committee accepted the report as information and did not object to advancing related resolutions to the Legislative Meeting.
