IDA briefs committee: Park Grove moves forward, LP expansion and Curtis School ready for construction

Hornell IDA representatives updated the committee on multiple development projects. The Park Grove housing project in Erwin — previously supported through county application — is moving forward but is addressing a DEC wetlands issue; IDA staff said mitigation measures are under review and engineering reports are awaited. The IDA also reported that LP is planning a roughly 46,000-square-foot expansion of production space, and that the Curtis School roof has been replaced and conversion construction should begin in the near term.
"This would be a great housing project, and we're excited to... play a part in it and support Hornell IDA as we move forward," one IDA representative said. The IDA said they are wrapping up annual reporting and expect to return to the committee with progress updates on projects. Members also asked about the Phillips property (DEC-mandated additional work at wetlands 'hot spots'); the IDA said the interim site management plan allows development outside hotspots but the final site management plan and full remediation are not expected until 2028.
