Steuben County approved awarding a purchase contract for a Ferris zero‑turn mower to Charles F. Oliver & Son LLC for $10,009.75 after staff reported the apparent low bidder did not meet bid specifications.
"The lower lowest bid actually came from out of Batavia, but did not meet the specs," a staff member said while recommending the award to Charles F. Oliver and Son. The motion to award the bid was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The legislature did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript. Staff said the chosen vendor met specifications and was the low responsive bidder; procurement documentation will reflect final contract terms.
