Hamilton Smith, Principal Planner, presented a PUD amendment to allow a 34,513-square-foot expansion of the National Museum of Wildlife Art, including an 11,270-square-foot basement that the staff said does not count toward overall floor area. Susan Johnson, representing the applicant, and Steve Seamons, museum director, also presented and answered questions.
Public comment was received from Karen Rockey, Lucretia Finley, Phil Powers, Amy Kuszak and Dave Dafoe; Phil Powers and Dave Dafoe answered questions from the board. After discussion and consideration of five required findings under the Land Development Regulations, Commissioner Natalia Macker moved to approve PUD2025-0002 and the motion carried unanimously.
