Court delegates SB22 salary authority, approves several reclassifications and personnel-related payments

By unanimous vote, the court delegated to the county attorney and district attorney the authority to allocate salary and benefit funds under Senate Bill 22 within grant guidelines and available balances. "This just kinda helps speed up the process a little bit," a staff member said, noting that personnel action forms will still route through payroll and the court will see the change forms.
The court also reclassified a law clerk position back to an assistant district attorney after the incumbent passed the bar, and approved reclassifying an assistant planner position to an assistant county attorney with a budget adjustment to move the salary line. Both reclassifications carried 5–0.
Separately, the court authorized payment for work completed to date on a Precinct 2 renovation project after staff explained the vendor had started work before procurement steps were completed. Audit staff noted there was no purchase order prior to the work and explained the proper requisition process; the court approved payment and directed improved compliance going forward.
