Commissioners authorized two related items affecting the countywide radio system.
First, the court gave the county judge authority to execute a Motorola Solutions agreement to complete tower grounding, interior shelter grounding and add an on-site generator at Smith Tower to finish the 700 MHz system. Staff described the work as necessary to complete the tower site and requested the judge be authorized to sign the agreement.
Second, the court approved the annual Motorola service agreement for ongoing radio-system maintenance and service; staff noted the county saved approximately $17,000 when finalizing the annual agreement. Both motions passed unanimously (5–0).
