Court authorizes RFPs for rainwater-harvesting tanks after Upper Trinity and Trinity GCD grants

The Commissioners Court authorized staff to advertise a competitive RFP to buy rainwater-harvesting tanks after receiving Upper Trinity Conservation District grant awards for Precincts 2 and 4.
Emergency Management staff said the grants are not to exceed $85,000 for each precinct; because the aggregate procurement exceeds $100,000, the county must competitively procure the tanks. The court authorized advertising the RFP on Oct. 29 and Nov. 5, opening bids Nov. 24 and anticipating an award on Dec. 8.
Separately, the court accepted grant agreements from the Trinity Groundwater Conservation District supporting rainwater-harvesting projects; county staff said signatures would be processed once final agreements are returned. The actions were approved unanimously.
