Lancaster County posts voter counts and ballot deadlines ahead of May 19 primary

Christa Miller, Chief Clerk and Chief Registrar for Lancaster County, gave an administrative update ahead of the May 19, 2026 Primary. "There are currently 362,599 registered voters in Lancaster County," Miller said, and she reported 23,946 mail ballot requests to date, with 4,453 already returned to the Election and Voter Registration Office.
Miller reminded residents of key deadlines: registration closes May 4 (in person by 5:00 p.m., online by 11:59 p.m.); the deadline to request a mail‑in ballot is May 12 at 5:00 p.m., whether submitted in person or online; and completed mail‑in ballots may be delivered in person to the office counter through May 12. She also announced extended office hours: May 14–15 until 8:00 p.m., May 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and Election Day, May 19, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Commissioner D'Agostino noted that poll worker training was completed last week; he said he attended a session and described it as a "helpful refresher." The board's announcements emphasize voter timelines and in-person options for ballot delivery ahead of the primary.
