Ray briefed the committee on Harris County Flood Control's F216 Phase 3 project, which covers the channel between Sins Road and the Union Pacific Railroad. He said the project will include property acquisition on the north side of the channel, construction of a detention basin alongside the existing channel and desilting of the channel. "The total cost of the project is gonna be just under $10,000,000," Ray said.
Ray said the city is waiting for a draft interlocal agreement from flood control for review. Committee members asked about how the work would affect nearby streets and neighborhoods and where exactly the project lies in local geography; Ray described it as north of Spencer across from D Street and just before a cut to the east near the railroad.
