On infrastructure, Corey said he and Curtis Moore are preparing a policy proposal for the Elko County Board of Commissioners addressing road maintenance responsibilities for roads not maintained by the county but used by multiple property owners, citing the Spring Creek Association as an example: “Curtis Moore and I are working on presenting a policy to the Elko County Board of Commissioners for a policy regarding the road maintenance on roads that go through areas that are not maintained by the county but are privately maintained.”
Commissioners expressed a desire for clearer county guidance on privately maintained roads and said the policy could provide the commission more comfort when staff adds conditions related to road maintenance to master-plan or zoning recommendations. No formal action was taken; the items were recorded as staff updates.
