Alpharetta unable to add football to Parks Without Borders MOU this year; Johns Creek to proceed with existing MOU

Staff updated the committee on efforts to expand the Parks Without Borders MOU with Alpharetta to include football in exchange for cricket. As of noon on the meeting day, Alpharetta has dissolved its prior contract with an NFL-affiliated provider and plans to run a new RFP; staff said Alpharetta cannot commit to a reciprocal football agreement until it identifies a provider.
Given that timing, staff recommended the committee adopt the original November MOU language for 2025 and revisit potential football reciprocity later in the year after Alpharetta completes its procurement. "As recently as noon today, we were informed by Morgan Rogers ... that they are not gonna support that from their side because the contract with NFL with Alpharetta has been dissolved," staff told the committee, recommending the committee move forward with the existing agreement now and meet with Alpharetta in the summer to reassess.
