Parks staff: two maintenance contracts to be resolicited; Jacobs contract runs through March 10

Parks staff told the advisory committee that the city's parks are maintained under two separate contracts: one covering Collier/Cawley Creek (shorter term) and another covering the rest of the park system. Both contracts will reach their term and the city plans to resolicit bids.
On the interdepartmental transition, staff said the Jacobs contract will continue through the end of its term and that the city will hire staff after the contract expires. "So we have 2 maintenance contracts for our parks," staff said, adding the contracts are due to be resolicited and that Jacobs is committed to serving through the end of its contract (staff indicated a March 10 end date).
