Johns Creek outlines 2025 push to grow life‑sciences, town center and local business support

Economic Development Director Alontz presented a 2024 recap and a set of 2025 priorities focused on business retention, life‑sciences attraction and town‑center implementation. Alontz said staff launched a Johns Creek Business 1st retention and expansion program last year and held a JC 10 forum with the city’s 10 largest employers to coordinate regional recruiting and support. "Last year, we prioritized our local businesses through the launch of our Johns Creek Business 1st initiative," Alontz told the council.
Alontz said the city participated in Bio International and the Georgia BioLife Sciences Summit to position Johns Creek as a destination for health‑care and life‑sciences firms and highlighted partnerships with the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce and the Emory Center for AI Learning. He also described work to advance Medley, the Boston Scientific grand opening and development of a town‑center brand and a 20‑acre park behind City Hall. Council members asked for workforce skill‑set data to show prospective employers and requested a post‑analysis of how Boston Scientific chose Johns Creek so staff can apply lessons to future recruitment. Alontz said staff will supply additional community data and fold the items into the forthcoming economic development strategic plan.
