CVB credits Dog Park contest for major social reach after national recognition
Summary
The Johns Creek CVB said a USA Today campaign helped Newtown Dog Park finish second nationally and that dog-park content drove the bureau’s top social reach in 2024, producing more than 11,000 views for a single contest post. The CVB plans to keep parks promotion a key part of 2025 outreach.

Kathy told RPAC that one of the CVB’s standout 2024 achievements was a campaign that placed Newtown Dog Park second on USA Today’s list of top dog parks. The campaign included ads, billboards and a thank-you follow-up that the CVB said drove strong social engagement. "When the campaign ended ... I said, I wanna create a thank you campaign so that people know we appreciate what they have done," Kathy said.
CVB analytics presented to the committee showed dog-park content was the bureau’s top reach item: the dog-park contest video alone had more than 11,000 views, and Kathy said social and website metrics helped the CVB reach tens of thousands of visitors in 2024. She said parks and recreation will remain a core focus for CVB promotion in early 2025, with planned blog posts and social highlights around Collie Creek, Newtown Park and the rubberized trail at Collie Creek Park.
