Tree damage prompts guardrail repair; county pursues LSSIP funding for five qualifying structures

Under the safety and risk management update, staff reported that a roughly 5-foot chunk of tree material ejected from a mulching head struck and damaged a passing car; the incident was logged for safety follow-up. Separately, staff described a tree that hit a guardrail on State Road 37; crews lifted the guardrail and bolted it back to posts as a temporary repair.
The Commissioner's Report noted all guardrails on State Road 37 (from State Road 35 to County Road F) are scheduled to be replaced in 2027. Staff also said they are pursuing LSSIP funding for a 6'-20' structures program and that the County has five structures that qualify for potential funding.
