CFO Stan Heil outlined proposed terms for a two-year Teamsters contract covering the Road Department for 2026–2027: a $2,500 signing bonus per employee, a $3.70 hourly pay increase per position, and a permanent move to four 10-hour workdays year-round. Heil said the county estimates roughly $90,000 in 2025 costs and will request an additional appropriation from Fund 1176 when negotiations are complete.
The Council also voted on salary adjustments for county employees described by Heil: increasing Nick Creevy’s salary from $93,000 to $102,300 to reflect his expanded responsibilities as Chief Operations Officer/Planning Commission Director/Redevelopment Director and federal grants manager; raising Suzanna Worral from $54,700 to $60,242 for oversight of the Chase Building and expanded administrative duties; and other line-item savings tied to Road Department staffing changes. Commissioner Jim Freiberger cast the lone dissenting vote; the motion passed 5–1 and the increases were set to take effect the next pay period.
