Commissioners had reviewed two written vendor quotes from Schneider GIS Parcel Maintenance: Option 1 covered 110 splits and combines annually for $13,176, and Option 2 offered unlimited splits and combines for $15,444 per year. Instead of adopting a vendor contract, Sharon Hartley offered to perform the work on a part-time basis. "I would be willing to come in and do the splits and combines as needed for the part-time rate," Hartley said during the special meeting.
Vice President Dan Borgenheimer moved to hire Hartley under the terms discussed; Commissioner Laura Coons seconded. The vote was 2–0 in favor. The motion specifies the payment source as the Commissioners' contract line item and includes a plan for Hartley to train the Auditor's office on parcel maintenance in 2025.
The decision replaces the need for an immediate annual contract with Schneider GIS, pending the county's internal staffing and training schedule. The meeting record shows no amendments or contingent follow-up items tied to the motion other than the training note.
