President John Lancaster told the board he had contacted representatives about a wind and solar ordinance and scheduled an initial meeting for Jan. 9, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. The minutes state that the first meeting will not be open to the public. Commissioners also noted the previously approved Blackford Solar Economic Development agreement remains pending signatures.
The record does not include draft ordinance language or a public-comment schedule; Attorney Forcum reviewed moratorium language and the minutes state there will be no moratorium. Public comment at the meeting included questions about special exceptions and how a moratorium might affect active projects, but the commissioners recorded no action to impose a moratorium at this session.
