RTC approves consent agenda; GIS staff flags County Road 725 deed discrepancy with BLM records
Summary
The RTC approved the consent agenda. Later, county GIS technician Andrew Meek reported that County Road 725 does not appear in his records and that a 1990 BLM deed may show right-of-way was given to the county; he will investigate further.
The RTC moved and approved the consent agenda (meeting date and minutes) during the Oct. 2 meeting. The motion was seconded and carried with the commissioners present.
During staff comments and the final public-comment opportunity Andrew Meek, who identified himself as a JS technician with the county, said he could not find County Road 725 in his GIS records and that his mapping currently treats the route as a BLM road. He said he has located a 1990 deed from the BLM "showing that they had given the right of way to the county" and that he is working with BLM records to reconcile the discrepancy. Meek said he will review GIS records and report back when he identifies any additional discrepancies on RTC project maps.
The commission asked staff to continue work on a public-facing project map to show how infrastructure dollars are being spent; staff said Dennis and Andrew were preparing that map for community transparency.
