At its regular meeting the Elko County Board of Commissioners approved a series of actions spanning contracts, grants, trust funds and the consent agenda.
Contracts and service agreements: The board approved an independent contractor agreement with Jordan Ramirez/Arcadian Wellness to provide juvenile drug court and family assessments for Department 3 and specialty courts. The motion was made, seconded and approved during the judicial agenda item.
Grants: Commissioners approved recurring grants L1-L3, including a $50,000 Veterans Transportation grant and a capital expense award of $5,339 for transit. One grant (L3) will be implemented with salary-and-benefit match funding and an MOU with the state for psychiatric case manager services.
Trust funds: The board approved a resolution granting the county manager authority to accept and administer two trust bequests from a local donor; one gift is earmarked by court order for Social Services and another for the Child Advocacy Center and will be administered under court conditions.
Consent agenda and calendar: The commission also approved the meeting calendar through November, noted the upcoming general election canvass (Nov. 14), and passed the consent agenda as presented.
All listed items were approved by voice vote during the meeting; staff follow-up and formal documentation (contracts, interlocals, and grant paperwork) were directed as next steps.
