Elko County Road Superintendent reports mag program, gravel work and winter preparations

Dennis Price, Elko County Road Superintendent, updated the commission on county highway work, saying the annual mag program is complete and that crews put down roughly 140–150 miles ("right around there at 140 something"). He said gravel projects totaled about nine miles, including work into Trail Creek and North Ruby Valley Road, and that some sections remain to be completed.
Price said crews are building salt-and-sand stockpiles, mixing materials to prepare for winter, continuing blading and performing mowing to restore sight distances on overgrown stretches near Gold Creek and Meadow Creek. He said the county plans to solicit bids for preventative maintenance early next year and will continue routine operations until winter conditions arrive.
