NDOW reports pronghorn, sage‑grouse and two moose sightings in eastern region surveys

Scott Roberts, Eastern Region game supervisor for the Nevada Department of Wildlife, updated the CAB on field surveys and recent harvest reporting. He said NDOW started pronghorn (pronghorn/prongle in transcript) herd surveys in Area 7 and Area 76 with small, scattered herds and that fawn and buck ratios were roughly in line with expectations. Roberts reported strong brood survey results for upland game and reported that staff recovered ‘‘203 wings’’ from sage‑grouse sample points as part of monitoring effort.
Roberts also reported moose activity: "We got the 2 moose in the 1st 6 days... Both coming out of unit o 75," he said, describing two large mature bulls over 40 inches and multiple other bulls, cows and calves reported in the unit. The updates were presented as operational information with no immediate policy action requested.
