Aspen proclaims 'Judge Brooke Peterson Day' as longtime municipal judge retires

Aspen officials honored municipal Judge Brooke Peterson at the council meeting on Sept. 24 with a proclamation recognizing 43 years of service and naming the day in his honor. Mayor Tory read the proclamation, citing Peterson's integrity, fairness, pro bono work and service to the community.
Judge Peterson, who will retire on Oct. 1, thanked his wife Carol, court clerks Jeanne Ritter, Reed Patterson and Tracy Terry, deputy judges including Ted Gordon/Ted Garden Schwartz and Don Nottingham, city staff and Aspen Police for their support. "From the bottom of my heart, thank you all," Peterson said.
