The elections director recommended option C as the most cost-effective choice that still preserves access by shifting some voters to early-voting sites and rebalancing precinct locations.
Commissioners expressed agreement with option C and asked the elections office to confirm whether the vendor could deliver units and software by Sept. 30; the court also asked staff to prepare the necessary budget adjustment paperwork so purchases could be made in FY26 if feasible. The elections official noted uncertainty around a pending state election administration bill that could affect equipment needs; nonetheless the court directed staff to secure the equipment as soon as possible given turnout patterns and early-voting demands.
