County reviews lease with Firemen’s Association; reassessment notices to mail in June with 40-day appeals

Lancaster County purchasing and property assessment officials presented a lease agreement between the county and the Lancaster County Firemen’s Association. Linda Schreiner, director of the Purchasing Department, and Kevin Edwards, Director of Property Assessment, were present to brief the Board on the item.
In response to a reporter’s question, Kevin Edwards said reassessment notices will be mailed in June and property owners will have a 40-day right to appeal if they disagree with the assessed value. Commissioners did not change the April 22 meeting agenda and noted the lease presentation during the work session.
