At the work session Commissioner Alice Yoder proposed creating an Opioid Advisory Steering Committee to review opioid settlement applications for adherence to the Pennsylvania Trust’s Exhibit E and to vet programs before Board consideration. Yoder suggested committee membership include county human services representatives, a Single County Authority representative, medical and legal professionals (including a judge from Veterans, Mental Health, or Drug Court), the District Attorney’s Office, prevention and treatment providers, recovery support representatives and community social service agencies.
Yoder outlined an application process requiring interested providers to submit an application with a budget and budget narrative and to explain how their program aligns with Exhibit E and how outcome measures will be collected and reported. Chairman Ray D’Agostino welcomed the proposal and asked the Drug and Alcohol Commission’s advisory structure to convene stakeholders and return recommendations to the Board. "I suggest creating an Opioid Advisory Steering Committee that would review OS applications for adherence to the PA Opioid Misuse and Addiction Abatement Trust – Exhibit E," Yoder said in the meeting record.
