Lancaster County commissioners voted April 22 to approve a memorandum of understanding that allows the City of Lancaster to receive $47,981 from the Fiscal Year 2025 Byrne Local Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) program to pay for the annual renewal subscription of the Lancaster City Police record management system software.
Commissioner Joshua G. Parsons moved the measure and Commissioner Ray D'Agostino seconded it; the motion passed with Commissioners D'Agostino and Parsons voting yes and Commissioner Yoder recorded as absent. The county will act on behalf of the District Attorney's Office in approving the arrangement while the City will serve as the eligible applicant and fiscal agent for the funds.
The allocation is based on population and crime statistics, including the average number of Part I violent crimes reported to the FBI, as noted in the memorandum. The funding is a one-time award from FY2025 and is intended to support the City Police's record management subscription renewal.
