La Porte EDC approves $6,138.89 sign grant for new Rauschabouts Ice House

The La Porte Development Corporation approved an enhancement grant incentive agreement for Underdog Enterprises, LLC (applicant Darren Pickering) for up to $6,138.89 to install signage and related improvements at 1309 West Fairmont Parkway, Suite D, where a new business called Rauschabouts Ice House will open.
Haley told the board staff received three quotes and determined the low bid justified a grant amount up to $6,138.89; because the request was under the $25,000 threshold it did not require City Council approval. For the record the applicant identified himself: "Darren Pickering. My home address is 1116 A Road in Friendswood, Texas," he said when asked to state his name and address.
Board members had no outstanding questions and the motion to approve the incentive agreement carried 5–0.
