Council approves seven temporary measures in block; meeting adjourns
Summary
At the conclusion of the session the Council voted to approve seven temporary acts in block — including temporary versions of items already discussed — and adjourned. Chair announced the next legislative meeting and a Committee of the Whole in two weeks.
After consideration of multiple emergency declarations and their underlying bills, Chair Mendelson moved to take seven temporary acts in block (including the residential building permit temporary, short-term disability temporary, parking enforcement modernization temporary, Rhode Island Avenue temporary, Wangari Gardens temporary, Net 0 temporary as amended, and STEAR temporary). By voice vote the Council approved the package of temporaries in block.
Chair Mendelson closed the meeting at 2:46 p.m., announced the next legislative meeting on March 3 and a Committee of the Whole meeting in two weeks. The block approval wraps implementation steps needed while committees continue work on permanent legislation for many items.
