Commission proclaims Oct. 11 as 'Just Desserts Day' to support county libraries

The Elko County Board of Commissioners read and adopted Proclamation 2025‑12 declaring Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, "Just Desserts Day" to promote and support the county's library system and encourage resident participation.
Tiffany Eden, president of the Friends of the Library, said the event has run for more than 30 years and that this year's theme is the Great Gatsby with a costume contest. "This event has been going on for more than 30 years," she said, and noted the group reinstituted the event since COVID and is excited to return.
Commissioner Travis Gerber moved to approve the proclamation and it was seconded; the commission voted by voice to adopt the proclamation and those involved planned a photo opportunity and ticket availability was mentioned.
