BLM warns limited funding will force prioritization for Cottonwood Peak and Jake's Fire rehab

Fuentes described a separate, larger complex—Jake's Fire—near Midas that began as separate fires and combined into a larger incident. She warned funding for rehab work is constrained nationally and local districts are competing for limited resources, so BLM will have to prioritize which rehab actions it can complete.
Commissioners asked about potential impacts and BLM noted it would coordinate with permittees on the rehabilitation schedule. No formal action was taken at the meeting.
