The Tekoa City Council awarded a street-paving contract tied to a TIB (Transportation Improvement Board) grant and approved a consultant amendment on April 20.
Public works consultant Matt Morkert reported bids opened April 3 and were lower than a prior chip-seal project. He recommended awarding the contract to Arrow Concrete & Asphalt Specialties (base bid plus additive alternates A and B) for $242,785.07; council approved the award unanimously.
Council also approved an amended consultant supplemental agreement with Community Engineering and Consulting for $72,836 to support the project. Morkert said the city will notify residents that they may contact the contractor if they wish to have apron (driveway) work done as a private arrangement.
The project and consultant contract were both approved without dissent. The council said staff will finalize paperwork and proceed with contract execution and scheduling.
