Council told annexation resolution for fire department will go to voters after council and district approval

Donavon Chase briefed the council on plans to annex the fire department into the fire district. He explained that if both the council and the fire district approve resolutions, the matter will proceed to a vote of county and city residents and that keeping the annexation will maintain status quo for 2027.
Chase said he will bring a resolution to the April 20 meeting for formal consideration; no final action was taken on April 6 and the annexation process will move through the resolutions and voter process described by Chase.
